I read a story from Reuters this morning that explains our country's new detention center in the Florida everglades and how a budget bill passed in the Senate on Tuesday will pay for it. The president toured the detention center yesterday wearing a hat with the words, "Gulf of America - Yet Another TRUMP Development" in a large bold font. He said this about the detention center, “They have a lot of bodyguards and a lot of cops that are in the form of alligators, you don’t have to pay them so much.” Some say hurricane relief funds will pay for it. Regardless of the legality of the funding source, I worry this could develop into an inhumane disaster.
On a lighter note I watched Conan O'Brien: The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Humor (2025 Netflix). YouTube trailer
"There are many humorous things in the world; among them, the white man's notion that he is less savage than the other savages." - Mark Twain
