summer 2025 June 4-7

Wednesday, June 4 was a more restful day.  I made my first two sales on discogs. Otis Redding and Carla Thomas - King and Queen and Sesame Street - Born to Add.  Wednesday was the first day the store went live and I got two sales. I got them shipped out and replaced the sprayer on the kitchen sink.  The rest of the day was pretty laid back.

Mimi sent me this old photo of Grover Cleveland Bowe (Papaw). We don't know the year of the photo.

Thursday, June 5 I got up early and went for a mountain bike ride at Pleasant Grove.  Started at Rock Brook near the big cul-de-sac.  Rode Rock Brook > Fern Valley (Boulder Forest) > Beech Grove > Deep Creek > Heritage Trail > Center Woods connector > Center Woods > Brush Arbor > around soccer fields to cul-de-sac. Great route, I'd do it again 🚵.

The old blue van was thoroughly vacuumed by W this week.  Thank you son!

After the ride I set TG and G up with the canoe for some lake paddling and fishing.  Then I grabbed some lunch and went to Meadow Creek to play 18 with GB.  We mainly played short tees for practice.  MH came by and we went to The Broadberry in Richmond with his buddy ML and AL to see a band from Boston called Neighbor youtube music. They are obviously students of Phish with mostly original material and lots of peaking guitar solos. The sounds was excellent but it was a little loud (good reminder to bring the Vibes hi-fi earplugs).

Friday, June 6 G had his first ball golf lesson, W worked all day at the Shark Tank, and I played 18 holes of disc golf with GB and MB at Meadow Creek.  We played short-short and long-long.  I had a rough round at 63.

Saturday, June 7 MC and G finished their plans for the soccer camp next week.  I'm looking forward to being there to support them in their first attempt at a youth camp for u10 and u12 players.  They have 21 players registered. I did yard work all morning and then we had a big cook-out at the BB party pad with corn hole, darts, Belmont Stakes pool, and tons of good food with good people and good tunes.
