Thursday night, May 29 was the Virginia Region 3C soccer quarterfinal - Flucos (6) at Staunton (3) - played at Monticello HS due to wet field conditions in Staunton. It was an outstanding match-up with the score locked at 2-2 when the full time whistle blew. The score remained 2-2 after the first 10 minutes of extra time. Then 8 minutes into the golden goal period of extra time Staunton scored off a bad bounce after our keeper made a save. Devastating loss, but Fluvanna's best season in over a decade!
The Flucos finished 10-7-2 ranked 38th in the state. Photo from 5/27/25 opening round of regionals vs. Spotswood

Then a new gatefold arrived in the mail, a gift from Hale.

On Saturday, May 31 we celebrated our nephew's high school graduation from Bayard Rustin High School, West Chester, Pennsylvania. Bayard Rustin, born in West Chester, was a remarkable contributor to the civil rights movement. Wikipedia has a lot of good content about Rustin.

I also got to play 18 holes of disc golf with another nephew at Thornbury Park, Thorton, Pennsylvania. Close game, I had a 63 (+7) and he had a 66 (+10).
A tornado came through the park a few years ago. The park left the down trees as obstacles on the holes. This one felt like a river log jam. Check the basket location!
