I spend some of my spare time compiling playlists. Turns out I listen to them a time or two then they sit. A few years ago I realized that most of these playlists fall into three categories: Campfire Beats (the most accessible) then Sonic Genre or Mellow Grin. Sonic Genre basically means all the stuff that tilts my ear and Mellow Grin playlists fall into the same style, just notably chill.
I dropped into three playlists over the weekend. I was walking dogs, playing disc golf, and stacking fire wood. It was fun listening to this music and I found some surprises.
Random Year End Comp 2023 - a long playing sonic genre playlist compiled December 30, 2023. There's a lot of fun rarely played tracks here with a bizarre soundtrack at the end. If you hang around long enough there's a deep Phish jam closer.
Heady - a mellow grin playlist compiled December 18, 2024. As the title suggests there are some heady tunes tunes on here. It's unusually short, only 12 tracks.
good every time - campfire beats compiled September 30, 2023. Straight up old school go to favorite songs, a 50 track long player.
