Not the most well received album from JT, but one that hits deep. I can't help but think of my longtime friend and his dad, SM. SM was a fan of his kids, the water, running, bikes, baseball, and JT - basically being outside and doing stuff. I'd like to think people would say the same about me.
I dig this record for the songs, JT's voice, the poling river cover, Danny Kortchmar, and the memories. One specific memory comes from the Little Miami River in southern Ohio. SM took us to Morgan's Livery on the Little Miami. We paddled, camped, and crafted lifelong friendships. The stuff that's real!
Morgan's recently announced it is closing, but the riverside property will be preserved. More here
